Happy 2014!

Hope you had a nice holiday break. I did! My boys came home from school and once again our house was BUSY and LOUD and MESSY but we had SO MUCH FUN!

Because the New Year always brings a renewed interest in health, I thought it would be fun to post a few recipes this week using one of my favorite fruits—The Wild Blueberry!  Wild Blueberries (found in the frozen food section) are wildly different from the regular blueberries you normally find in the produce section.

Their tiny blue bodies pack…

  • A powerful punch when it comes to taste and antioxidants.
  • Intense flavor & color
  • More berries per pound
  • Less water, so they freeze better and perform better in baking
  • Higher concentration of beneficial phytochemicals, making them a more powerful ally against disease

So the first recipe this week is an easy, yes…super easy salad dressing recipe. Perfect to support your brain health beginning this new year.

  • 1 cup Wild Blueberries (defrosted)
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon agave or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon salt (to taste)


Add all ingredients to a mini food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.

Blueberry Sauce

Serve over your favorite salad. Like this spinach, feta and walnut masterpiece.
