• 1/4 cup plain popcorn kernels
  • 1 lunch size paper bag
  • Tape
  • Seasoning of choice

Popcorn is a whole grain snack that is really low in calories and is the perfect munchie when you are studying. But the packaged variety in the supermarket is expensive and can be high in sodium and fat.

Guess what? You can make popcorn in the microwave without the packaged products from the supermarket. All you need is a bag of plain popcorn, a lunch bag, tape, salt and some flavorings.

Step 1: Put 1/4 cup popcorn in a brown paper lunch bag. Fold top over a few times and tape it down.

Dont use a larger bag as it could catch on fire.

Step 2: Place the bag in microwave and cook on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until there are 5 seconds between pops.

Step 3: Eat plain or add salt or add flavors right away as the steam will help it stick the popcorn.
